East of Eden Studios - Inaugural Photoshoot

Room 270, ArtLab, 180 Dafoe Rd, University of Manitoba
This building holds a special place in my heart.
When I started East of Eden Studios, I knew I needed to coordinate an inaugural photoshoot. From finding the perfect location to selecting models and a photographer, every detail had to be just right. I knew from the beginning that this photoshoot had to take place in one of the main studio spaces in the ArtLab building, home to the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba—the place where I studied for four transformative years. It was here, in these classrooms, that I grew the most as a person and creatively. It was here I embraced my creativity and artistic side while blending my athletics upbringing.
The ArtLab wasn’t just a building; it was a canvas for my dreams and aspirations. Returning here to capture the essence of East of Eden Studios felt right. These walls are filled with memories of late-night projects, project critiques, and the joy of seeing a concept come to life. It’s where I learned to push boundaries and let my imagination run wild, which is at the heart of our brand’s ethos.
Equally important to me was who participated in this inaugural photoshoot. What better models than the people who have supported me throughout my life, who have encouraged me to be myself and chase this dream—my friends and family. Their presence added a personal touch, making the experience even more special while capturing this time in all of our lives. Reflecting the brand's message of the blend of athletics and fashion, I chose friends I've bonded with through sports and athletics. Bringing these athletes into my world of fine arts and fashion was incredible. Dressing them in clothes from my own wardrobe for the shoot, some of which they would borrow from me later, helped them find their own voice through fashion. Their belief in me and my vision for East of Eden Studios has been a driving force to get to where I am today, and having them by my side during this milestone was incredibly meaningful and emotional for myself. While not all of my friends could be a part of this photoshoot, hopefully they will be a part of the future shoots.
It wasn’t just my friends in front of the camera; the people behind the camera were just as crucial. My sister, Amber Bridges, had started her photography business and answered my call to help me out. Having her support and giving us both a space to let our art and creativity shine was a true blessing. She also studied in the ArtLab building in the same faculty, focusing on photography rather than graphic design as I did. Amber exceeded my expectation with these photos and being able to collaborate with her I will always cherish. My other sister, Sydni Eden, also came to support me and helped set everything up along with my girlfriend, Jena Barscello. I couldn't be more grateful that I had the three of them helping behind the scenes. I sure felt the love and support from family that day.
This inaugural photoshoot was a blend of nostalgia and new beginnings. Surrounded by loved ones in a place that shaped so much of who I am, we captured the spirit of East of Eden Studios. The photos reflect not just the first drop of hats but the journey and the people who have been part of it since the beginning.
As the brand moves forward, the ArtLab will always remind me of where it all started. The creativity and passion fostered within those walls continue to inspire the designs and drive us to create clothing that tells a story. Giving a voice to those who see sports and athletics as art. Keeping this idea at the forefront of my mind, this first photoshoot marks the beginning of many adventures to come. I welcome you to be a part of the East of Eden Studios family and join us on this journey.
Stay tuned for more updates and behind-the-scenes moments as the brand continues to grow and evolve.
